We had a lot of fun designing this Bar Mitzvah with accents of ice hockey incorporated into the look. A color palette of blues, whites, and silver was layered with hints of red and other primary colors.  Elements such as a dance floor designed to look like an ice hockey rink, a goal net with pucks as place cards, hockey stick candelabras and faux snow all added to the icy feel.

“Regardless of its size or complexity, the perfect floral arrangement is the one that makes you stop for an instant and smile with surprise and delight,” writes Preston Bailey in his new book Preston Bailey: Flowers.
If that’s the case, then his beautiful tribute to blooms is bound to inspire awe.  Every bride I’ve shown Flowers to has grabbed the book from my hands and wanted to frame (not rip!) the out-of-this-world photos inside.  His anecdotal stories from A-list events—he’s planned parties for Oprah Winfrey, Joan Rivers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Ivanka Trump—are equally fascinating.

Every great wedding has a lively dance floor, and dancing the night away with dear friends and long-lost relatives is often one of the best parts of saying “I do.” But what about guests who don’t want to dance — or aren’t able to? How can they have all-night fun at your wedding?
We have a few suggestions below for ways to keep your guests entertained all night — and reminiscing about the BEST. WEDDING. EVER. long into the future.
1. Have board games scattered throughout the room
This is a fun option to offer alongside traditional dancing entertainment: Guests can take a spin on the dance floor, then relax for a game of Chutes & Ladders, and non-dancers can make the rounds playing every game at the reception.

So you’re looking for some wedding reception games that will give your guests something else to do BESIDES dancing? (Because while some of us love dancing, some of us don’t want to dance at our wedding). We’ll, you’re not alone.
We hosted a game night wedding reception so it could be more interactive for everyone. We bought most of the prizes on sale, but still saved a lot by not hiring a DJ or band, which comes with an added cost of a dance floor and lights.
That quote from Jami and Jamie’s backyard game night wedding inspired me to put together a roundup of great games that you can play at your wedding. Ready, set, GO!

Lighting is one of the most impactful investments you can make in your wedding.
From fairylights and candles to uplighters and spots, paying a little attention to your wedding lighting can add drama, ambience, and really draw attention to an ornate venue or make a simple setting, all the more special.
